At the Fall Meeting we will celebrate “All Things Books”. Holiday Brunch & Silent Auction (R$)
Saturday, December 7, 2019 9:30am
Pine Valley Country Club, 10900 Pine Mills Road, Fort Wayne
join us (and bring a guest) as we continue our annual tradition of celebrating the holidays with fellowship, music, catching up with friends, meeting new ones and participating in our silent auction to further AAUW’s mission. Please consider the contribution of a basket or individual items to include in the silent auction.
Our guest speaker will be one of the students from Purdue University Fort Wayne who was sponsored by our AAUW Branch to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) this past spring. She will provide highlights of the leadership training information that was gained at this nationally recognized Conference.
This year as part of our 80th anniversary, we will also be celebrating the history of our partnership with other organizations in our community, such as the League of Women Voters, the YWCA, the Women’s Bureau, who work diligently to improve the quality of life for women and girls
Spring Brunch (R$)
Saturday, June 20, 2020, 9:30 am
Fort Wayne Country Club, 5221 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, IN
Due to the cancellation of the March Annual Meeting and the May Meeting, we will conduct annual business before this year’s program and meeting being held in June. This year’s program will be about the Hamilton Sisters and will feature guest speaker Ruth Tyndall Baker. Ruth is a published writer, playwright, and retired educator. She has finished a play about the Hamilton Sisters. Her research has led to surprising facts about the family and she has now started writing a book about the Hamilton Sisters. Her presentation will feature a short reading from the play and details of the interesting work and contributions that were made to society by the sisters. This meeting is also the time for you to renew your membership for 2020-2021, so bring your checkbook! In addition, a silent auction will be held, so bring your “basket of goodies” or a great book you have read to be auctioned off.
